January: REI Expo in Dallas was amazing!! If you’re in Texas and want to learn real estate investing and network with all the Texas folks, this is the event to go to. I met David and Melina Montelongo, my Success Coach – Doug Ottersberg, Eddie Speed, Jorge Roddy Jr, and many more influental real estate investors from around Texas that I had heard about and even talked to online but not in person.
February: Just a few weeks after running to Dallas, we rushed to the Rio Grande Valley to spend time with my Grandpa who has been very ill. I also got to hang out with my other mentors David and Ramiro from Sell Now Realty in the Rio Grande Valley. On our way back we stopped in San Antonio where I met Joseph Irons, Coach and Real Estate Investor.
This month was also monumental. We opened up our official Real Estate ATM office in Odessa, TX to support our growing team. I’m no longer on my own, working from home. We have a place where buyers and sellers can come meet us face to face.
March: The girls (my daughters) and I traveled to Austin for Phill Grove‘s Real Estate Seminar. Phill made a dream board picture come true for me by inviting Stedman Graham (visionary and leader (also known as “Oprah’s Man”, but don’t put him in that box)). I was able to meet him and show him my vision board picture!! Phill was also amazing in his presentation and the amount of content he delivered for FREE! My biz partner and I have used his AMPS System before and made money with it. I will brag on that in a future post but I will share this.. Phill and Shenoah are authentic, nice, and very smart. Great people to know.
April: We traveled to New Mexico on an Easter geteway. While we were gone, we found out that my Grandpa had entered into a coma and passed away Easter Day. We rushed back down to the Rio Grande Valley where we spent time celebrating his life and saying our final goodbyes.
May: This month has been awesome. I traveled to the most amazing event in Dallas, TX where I met and had dinner with Eric Trump (Donald Trump’s Son and Executive VP of the Trump Organization, Steve Wozniak (Apple Computers Co-Founder and my former boss), David Hester from AE’s Storage Wars, Steven Bradbury (Austrilian Olympic Gold Medalist), Stedman Graham, and many HIGH Networth individuals. his month, I also launched the West Texas Investors Club where we gather to network, share deals, and grow our networth. If you read in my archives, I had started a group before but it since has fizzled out, so I started a new one with many of the people I do business with and have changed the format and time we meet.
The most recent update is I just got back from San Antonio, TX where I spent time again learning from Phill Grove, Raymond Aaron, Stedman Graham, and other marketing leaders while networking and forming new bonds with other entreprenuers and real estate investors in Central Texas.This was a fun and very effective trip. While there I also went to a Switchfoot Concert (I used to do marketing and sales for them during my days at EMI Music) and got to be a TOTAL FAN.
To me the term “FAN” is to enjoy the product, service, or content without negative feelings towards the giver or industry. Because of my marketing background in both the music and information marketing industries, I have been jaded in the past with artists, authors/speakers, and different personalities due to knowing the ins and outs, good and bad, that goes on behind the scenes. I love it when I get to be a fan to the individuals I admire because even though I know they’re just individuals like you and me, if they turn me into a “Fan”, that means that they’ve done a great job with their craft, they have sold me, so therefore they are truly experts and artisans. The true test is when what they have sold me has actually made an impact in my life, caused transformational change, and has accelerated success in my real estate investing business. Those are the kind of people that I want to share with you from now on.
While there I also attended my cousin’s Graduation where she was named Valedictorian (yay!), and got to spend time with my parents and old friends. On my way back, I checked out some deals that we had received calls from and drove straight into the Solar Eclipse as it faded into the horizon.AAMAZING weekend!!
Whew! Just a glimpse into what my life has been like lately. So am I closing deals? Am I actually buying and selling real estate? YES! Averaging 3 houses/month! and YES through more than 12 strategies that are available to real estate investors! How? Systems!! I have an amazing team around me that keep the engine running while I keep my SUV’s engine running around Texas. I love my Real Estate ATM family. We treat each other like family and are there for each other like family. In order to support a family, YOU need to START that engine yourself. There are many ways that help you get there. From coaching to courses. But the key is to DO IT NOW! Take a step towards your goals each and every single day and you will get there.
So how have I achieved all this momentum in 2012? Support from like minded individuals, focus, working smarter, but most importantly is realizing Life is short. I lost my Grandpa this year and most recently a 40 yr. old cousin. With both of their passings, I realize that the days/time we get on earth are passing by the minute and we’re not getting them back. I’m going to LIVE Life. Not just talk about “Someday” or as my parents like to say “Tomorrow”, but actually DO IT NOW. If it helps me get to my next goal, I’m taking action and enjoying every bit of it along the way. What about you? Are gonna “DO IT NOW”?
